Fette di pane agli anaci

( Slices of bread with aniseeds)

At the small restaurant (Trattoria) of Montebello street in Borgo it was very usual to serve these slices of bread especially on Thursday when there was the market: slices of home-made bread which were greased with olive oil and sprinkled with sugar and aniseeds, then put in oven in order to roast them and eaten very hot.
