In some meadows of the Apennines there are some samples of hawthorn mote
then 5 metres high. These solitary trees are impressive in Spring time,
because of their blossoming which attracts numerous insects, while in
Fall these trees cover with red berries, which feed so many birds.
Use Its fruits are astringent, as the dried leaves are used in infusion.
The blossoms are useful as regulator of the nervous system and of
the heart. The infusion of its blossoms is considered a remedy against
insomnia, emotionalism and anxiety.
