Ivy of the earth, Glechoma hederacea

Family of labiatae

This small plant grows at the basis of trunks or along escarpments.

Use
It is used in herbalist's shops and picked up for Summer solstice; if left to infuse in milk and honey it is a good remedy against cough and catarrh. In northern Europe it was used to flavour the beer. The most tender leaves can be used to cook soups of mixed vegetables, or boiled with bread soups.
