Salvia dei prati, Salvia pratensis

It belongs to the same botanical family of officinal sage, which grows in our kitchen gardens and has world-wide employ as aromatic herb, but the "salvia dei prati" is not used for cooking purposes, even if its tender leaves can be used to prepare minestroni. This herb blossoms in may and shows a beautiful dark violet spike.
