Veronica, Veronica beccabunga

Family of scrofulariaceae

This plant is common in ponds and streams, where the water is fresher and clearer. Very often it is confused with watercress, that belongs to another botanical family. During Spring time the young shoots sprout and they are used to prepare a slightly bitter salad, very useful to purify blood.

Use
This herb has a relaxing effect and it represents a good remedy against inflammations; it is necessary to wash it very carefully in order to take away any kind of parasite.
