LE
VALLI: this small village had an important past, because,
besides offering hospitality to great personages of the
time, in 1300 a peace treaty between Bologna and Florence
after an important congress was agreed upon here. As a result
of its position, it was also a thriving market.

MONTI:
this small hamlet located on the bank of the river Santerno,
is the end of the Municipal territory. At present it counts
up to a few units of inhabitants.

RIFREDO:
it is a small hamlet situated between Scarperia and Firenzuola.
It boasts of being the birth place of Giovanni d'Andrea who
was Petrarca's law teacher. Nearby we find the historical
Abbey of Moscheta, founded in 1034 by Giovanni Gualberto and
dedicated to St. Peter. |

PIETRAMALA:
: this health resort on the Giogo of the Apennines of Firenzuola
near Radicosa was once also a customs place.
In its territory there are modest natural methane gas deposits,
which have puzzled and terrified entire generations in the
past for the phenomenon relative to their spontaneous combustion
called "Everlasting Fire".

PIERO SANTERNO:
it is situated along the road that takes to Romagna, in
the Santerno Valley. In 1332 this village gave life to the
construction of the Castle in Firenzuola.
