D: Which is the opera attended by Hannibal in the movie?
R : The opera is a work of fantasy, it is a new composition taken from the Dante's "Vita Nova".
It seems they might make a real opera out of this work.
The song in the movie is sung by Andrea Bocelli.

D:Why has Doctor Lecter decided to come here to Florence ?
R : For two motives, the first to search for his origins. It seems his mother is a descendent of the Visconti family, and he is searching in the old Palazzo Caponne library for documents which could prove this descendance. The second motive is because he believes that the Italian Police are not capable of connecting into the FBI database where he is obviously listed as wanted.

D : How does Hannibal behave in Florence ?
R : Before he was recognised by Chief Constable Pazzi, he behaved like any normal classical literature scholar, the only murder being that of the Capponi library caretaker, whose place he took. Then, after being recognised, he does not hesitate to commit other murders. Anyway, in Florence, he did not devour his victims. It is known that he personally did his food shopping in a well known shop.
Perhaps he is happy with just "fava beans and a good glass of Chianti".

D : How many days did the shoot take in Florence ?
R : About six weeks.

D : How did the Florentines accept this ?
R : Initially the production team was welcomed with enthusiasm and curiosity, but then there were embarrassing moments of reaction by the inhabitants of certain areas who did not welcome the shooting of the film.

D : Why didn't Jodie Foster accept the part of Clarice ?
R : It is known that since the time of "The Silence of the Lambs" Jodie Foster has had a tremendous career, therefore, it now seems she prefers to direct films. Anyway the end of the book, from which the second film was taken, is not encouraging for a noted actress ; in any case the producer has assured that the end of the film will be different.

D : "Hannibalinflorence.com". Why was this realised ?
R : The idea of a personage like Hannibal Lecter, sharp, refined and perverse being loose in Florence is intriguing. We have already been spellbound by the film "The Silence of the Lambs". The idea of transferring Hannibal's positive characteristics in an internet site seen through his own eyes, was exciting.

D : Florence is already famous in all the world. What need is there for an internet site like this ?
R : It is true, Florence is very famous but unfortunately today's tourists who visit our city are only passing through.
Tourists are shown the most important monuments and museums in the briefest of time missing out "all the rest". As if Florence was "all in - three days and two nights at half pension".
Our internet site wants to present a Florence outside the traditional schemes and the usual recommended shops.
Whoever, from whichever part of the world, could see from the images of our internet site, an elegant, refined, cultured and witty Florence - the Florentines Florence.
