Poggio Etrusco is a privately owned estate near Montepulciano,
halfway between Florence and Rome. The owners are Pamela
Sheldon Johns (a cookbook author), Courtney Johns (an artist and clothing designer),
and their daughter, Alaia. The villa has three private apartments available
for weeklong holiday rentals. Each apartment is uniquely charming and comes
equipped with a fully-equipped kitchen and living area with a fireplace. They
are tastefully decorated with antiques and artwork, each with lovely
views. A private one-bedroom, one-bath room in the olive grove may be available
for Bed & Breakfast.
The Guest Farm originates from an old 18th C. hamlet, where
over 40 inhabitants, all kinsmen, lived until 1940.
The whole hamlet has since been meticolously restored and, even though
it has keptall its disinctive feautures, it provides all the necessary comforts
to make a holiday unforgettable.
Apartments tastefully furnished with antiques and precious Tuscan fabrics,
are available to meet our guests' requirements. Great attention has been paid
to torough, meticolous restoration and to detail. The surrounding flourishing
countryside, a mass of orchards, is fitting for a corner of paradise that now
returns to its former splendour.
The Residence Bosco della Spina inaugurated in
December 1999, is the renovation of an ancient Medieval farm: the vineyards,
the granaries and the stables are located in the ancient town of Lupompesi
Borgo of which the origins are lost in time from Etruscan to Roman to
the Barbaric invasions.
The estate in the Borgo includes 14 Suites of various sizes, Reception,
Bar, the shopping area, where genuine goods from the farm are sold, Restaurant
with fireplace and a large terrace, a private outdoor parking space, swimming
pool, a small fitness centre, and a meeting room.
Sette querce is situated only a few metres from the historic centre of
San Casciano dei Bagni, a medieval village that overlooks the southern
aspect of Monte Cetona. Nestled on a high plateau between the Val d'Orcia
and Val di chiana, the hotel is only fifteen minutes by car from autostrada
exits at Fabro (going north from Rome) and Chiusi/Chianciano (going south
Renovated yet preserved in its typical Tuscan style, the estate is comprised of a main building and a side building, where you will find very comfortable rooms with earthen floors and Tuscan-tile covered roofs (every room has private bathroom with shower).
Among olive trees, fig trees, almond trees, and grapevines, we built our 22x55 ft. swimming pool, where even the little ones can have fun; our guests can also bask on the nearby lawn. Naturally, you can also swim in the nearby sea of the Follonica beach.
At Massa Vecchia you will find an informal, personalized atmosphere. Road biking and mountain biking lovers won’t be disappointed. An enthusiastic mountain biker himself, owner and organizer Ernst Hutmacher knows the best routes in the area.
