he Centro d'arte Spaziotempo, which is a stone's throw from Piazza Santa Croce and on the edge of the old structure of the Roman amphitheatre, is a modern and contemporary art gallery that occupies the rooms at the bottom of a building of medieval origin. There is a constantly changing programme of exhibitions which enables visitors to find something to interest them at all times of the year. Besides, every twenty days a new work by a young artist is put on display in the entrance hall; this is part of a display cycle project concerning European art which has been named Spaziotempo Entrance.
On October 7, there is the opening of a show of the work of Mimmo Rotella. Besides an anthological section of 30 works, the master of décollage famous throughout the world for his torn-up strips of advertisements will present his latest cycle of works based on the theme of Internet and new technologies. It is a good opportunity to combine the inauguration of the show and a party to mark the artist's birthday.
In the small exhibition room (4 x 4m) of Spaziotempo in Via dei Benci, which can be clearly seen from outside the gallery, there will a display every three weeks of the work of young European artists who are experimenting with various expressive means. No particular current or line of thinking will be privileged, but rather the aim is to achieve a full 360-degree view of current areas of innovation. Spaziotempo Entrance is a project which aims to render contemporary art as visible as possible, to produce a gallery-window that grabs the attention of experts and casual passers-by alike. Everything from photography to painting, and from installations to sound settings, there is no limit to the forms of expression on display in this space.
