the centre of Florence, near the Galleria dell'Accademia, there
is the small, elegant shop of Nataly Cagli, who with her mother
Anna provide Florentines with a vast range of teas to choose
from - English, Russian, Indian, Chinese, and Turkish - which
they package themselves in convenient 100g-packets, each of
which has its own original label hand-prepared by the pleasantly-engaging
Signora Anna. And clearly, given the name of the shop, it is
also possible to buy coffee by weight (including granular decaffeinated)
- and the flavour is something special. In fact, the shop is
supplied by an old roasting house which is still wood-fueled.
The shop is a haven for food-lovers, because here you can find
biscuits, sweets, chocolate, savouries, jams, honey, and liquors,
all high-quality brands carefully and tastefully selected by
the owners.
It is no surprise that the Florentines book months in advance
in order to be able to obtain the famous gift "baskets"
prepared by Café do Brasil for the main festive periods.
